Additional Drivers

Additional drivers must provide a valid driver license as well as additional contact information. Primary Driver Free + Additional driver $11.95/day Minimum Age for Additional Drivers: 21-24.All drivers are required to have state minimum liability protection. (Underage fee applies to any driver under the age of 25 no exceptions)

Coverages

Collision Damage Waiver: CDW is not insurance and is not mandatory. If you accept CDW by your initials on the rental document at the daily rate for each full or partial day that the vehicle is rented to you, and the vehicle is used and operated in accordance with this agreement, we assume responsibility for loss or damage to the rented vehicle, except, if permitted by law, for lost, damaged or stolen keys or remote entry devices, towing or tire service unless related to an accident or recovery of the car if stolen and except for your amount of “responsibility”, if any, specified on the rental document. CDW does not cover theft of the vehicle if the keys cannot be produced. Cost of CDW depends on the vehicle type and rental location- the exact amount is available at the rental counter. Deductible Damage Waiver: DDW is only available to Renters who carry an existing auto collision policy. DDW is not insurance and is not mandatory. If you accept DDW by your initials on the rental document at the daily rate for each full or partial day that the vehicle is rented to you, and the vehicle is used and operated in accordance with this agreement, we waive your responsibility for loss or damage to the rented vehicle up to the amount of your applicable primary auto insurance deductible, except, if permitted by law, for lost, damaged or stolen keys or remote entry devices, towing or tire service unless related to an accident or recovery of the car is stolen and except for your amount of “responsibility”, if any, specified on the rental document. In the unfortunate event that you are responsible for damage or collision, In order to validate coverage, you will be required to submit a copy of your primary auto policy’s “declaration” page to AVR’s claims department. Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is available for an additional daily charge of USD X.XX for each rental day. SLP is not insurance and is not mandatory. Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is a secondary protection product that picks up where primary liability (state statutory limits) leaves off… When combined with primary liability coverage, SLI provides the renter and any authorized driver up to $1,000,000 of liability protection for third party claims due to bodily injury or property damage. In order for SLP to pay on a claim, however, the state statutory limits must first at least be satisfied. The policy will respond only after all other available insurance has been exhausted. Exclusions: SLP does not cover damage or injury to the renter, authorized drivers, family or household members, or passengers. This coverage may duplicate coverage already provided by insurance policies applicable to the renter. Airport Van Rental is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of your existing insurance policies, therefore, please contact your personal agent for assistance. This coverage is voided if: the renter or authorized driver violate the terms of the rental contract, including but not limited to, participation in any speed contest, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or driving the vehicle beyond the geographic limitations stated in the agreement; where the driver of the vehicle at the time of accident is not the renter, or authorized driver specifically authorized by Airport Van Rentals as noted in the rental agreement; where the renter obtains the vehicle by fraud or misrepresentation. Coverage does not apply to accidents that occur in Mexico. Coverage is not provided for uninsured or underinsured motorist. Renters Liability Protection (RLP) is available for an additional daily charge of USD X.XX for each rental day. RLP is not insurance and is not mandatory. Renters Liability Protection (RLP) affords the renter with liability protection at the policy limits required by the state. This protection will help protect the renter should the renter injure another person in an accident, or damage the property of another while operating the rental vehicle, up to the policy limits. Exclusions: RLP is not available in the State of OR, CO or IN. RLP does not cover damage or injury to the renter, authorized drivers, family or household members, or passengers. Airport Van Rental is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of your existing insurance policies, therefore, please contact your personal agent for assistance. Mexico Insurance: AVR Van Rental offers the purchase of Mexico Insurance, on vehicle rentals. Mexico insurance required to be purchased at the AVR location 72 hours prior to travel to Mexico. Rates start at $45.00 per calendar day including tax. Travel is allowed to cities in Mexico close to California and Arizona border. NOT AVAILABLE IN CANADA. RSA: Roadside Assistance (RSA): If you purchase our Roadside Service Assistance (RSA) we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service call up to the amount of $400.00 per incident. You may purchase RSA at $5.99 per rental day. Benefits include emergency road service towing, winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service, and emergency fuel delivery. Some restrictions apply ask for a copy of an RSA brochure at the rental counter. Roadside assistance is available to all customers at the renter’s expense should the RSA option be declined. RSA does not cover the loss or damage to any vehicle or its equipment.

Financial Policy

Credit cards accepts Amex, Discover, MasterCard and Visa Credit card/ Debit card policy: Debit card must have a Visa or MasterCard logo. Debit card/Credit card and driver’s license must be in same name. Required at time of rental.AVR will authorize the amount of $200.00 as a security deposit. Unused funds upon return will be credited back to the card. This process may take up to 14 days for a credit to appear back on your account due to bank processing standards Debit Card Users: AVR will authorize an additional $200.00 as a security deposit; and local Renters must provide proof of residency (Current Utility Bill or Pay Stub) . Travelers must provide a copy of their round trip ticket. This process may take up to 14 days for a credit to appear back on your account due to bank processing standards. Debit cards are not accepted for Full size SUV reservations and rentals. Prepaid Cards/Personal Checks: Prepaid cards or personal checks are not accepted as forms of payment. Cash Users: Cash deposits are not accepted at the time of rental, but can be used as payment upon return, on the location.

Local Traveller Restrictions

Local Renters are defined as living within a 120 mile radius of the renting location. Credit Card Use Policy: Local Renters will be subject to a $200 deposit in addition to the cost of the rental. Debit Card Use Policy: Local Renters will be required to provide a utility bill with an address that matches the renters license. Debit Cards will also be subject to a $200 deposit on top of rental charges. If your address has changed or updated, we will accept two bills with your new address that does not match your license.

Mileage Limitations

Special mileage restrictions apply to: Wheel Chair Accessible Vans: Limited to 150 free miles a day. Additional miles at $0.25/mile per mile. Cargo Vans: Limited to 100 free miles per day. Additional miles at $0.25/mile One Way Rentals: AVR offers nationwide one way drop offs for a fee. Please contact your renting office for pricing details. Local renters are subject to a 375 miles per day allowance on all vehicle classes, with a 3,000 mile total mileage cap on the rental. Miles in excess of 375 per day allowance will be charged at $0.25 per mile. Miles in excess of 3,000 total mileage cap will be charged at $0.50 cents per mile regardless of length of rental unless authorized in writing by AVR Leadership.

Pick-up Instructions

This is a contactless location meaning we do not have an actual office or staff on site in Phoenix, but we do have a gated parking lot where we stage your vehicle. The location will call you to confirm your reservation, verify your details and set up the contract with you 24-48 hours before your scheduled arrival, you will receive the contract via email. You can access and sign the contract using your computer or mobile devices. A contract must be signed before receiving the vehicle. Once we get the contract back, you will receive an email or text of the vehicle’s location. We partner with several parking facilities to facilitate our 24/7 pickup, to make this a seamless process. Arrive at the vehicle and enjoy your rental van. What to expect when you make your contactless reservations. The location will call you to confirm your reservation, verify your details and set up the contract with you. 24-48 hours before your scheduled arrival, you will receive the contract via email. You can access and sign the contract using your computer or mobile devices. A contract must be signed before receiving the vehicle. When you arrive, you have already handled the paperwork, so show your ID and you are on the way with your rental van. If you are arriving from the Phoenix Airport, please Uber/Lyft/Taxi to our location for pick up. Please submit your receipt to [email protected], and we will reimburse your Uber/Lyft/Taxi fare to the contract.

Plate Pass

If you do not pay cash for tolls or the roadway does not accept cash payment you automatically opt into our toll service, pursuant to which you agree to pay us or our toll program administrator, with whom we will share your credit card/debit information, for all tolls incurred during your rental and all related fees, charges and penalties. Under the Toll program, once you pass through an electronic toll, you will pay a convenience fee of $4.95 for each day of the entire rental period, including any days on which Toll service is not used, up to a maximum of $24.75 per rental month plus incurred tolls at the maximum prevailing rates posted by the toll authority. You can avoid the convenience fee and any other charges by paying the toll in cash, using your electronic toll device, or avoiding any cashless toll road or passage. The charges may take 4-8 weeks after the rental to be billed to your credit card/debit card on file.

Renter Qualifications

Renters must be 21 years or older to rent. Rates listed online are for 25 years and older. A valid driver license and valid payment card must be presented at time of pick-up. International Driver License: Valid International driver license is required. International renters must provide proof of full coverage insurance valid in the United States. Insurance must be obtained prior to or at the time of rental. It is our policy to hold reservations up to two hours beyond the scheduled arrival time, subject to published office hours. If you experience delays, please contact the rental office so that they can make their best effort to extend your reservation. Young Driver Fee: Minimum Age for any rental is 21. Any renter between the ages of 21-24 will be subject to a $25.00 per day underage fee.
