A Live Look At Wartime History
Ever wanted to visit a submarine? What if that submarine was a WWII sub that went on six different missions and is now a living museum paying homage to that? The USS Pampanito is one of two historic ships docked at Pier 45 in Fisherman’s Wharf.
While onboard you will get to experience and explore what it would have been like for daily life on the submarine. You can see all the navigation consoles, the crew quarters, and even what happened when live emergencies sounded off. You don’t have to be a history buff to really enjoy the awesomeness of what it would have been like to be out under the ocean for days at a time in this metallic beast.
While the submarine won’t take you all day to look at, Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the best tourist spots in San Francisco, so you’ll find no shortage of activities walking around.
Good food is of no shortage around Fisherman’s Wharf either, so we recommend eating at Fog Harbor Fish House.
